High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. Apple a day is my favorite go to for healthy food or a quick snack! The açai bowls are super fire!!! It's got a new look since they're renovating but that hasn't changed how great the food and service is!

Expensive. Crazy expensive. Expect to pay between 10 and 16 bucks for 12 oz of juice. Crazy. Not recommended. There are other places in sobe. Go to Pura Vida instead. Half the price

The juices are $10 a pop but are delicious and there are a variety of combinations. The food is healthy and there are a lot of vegan options. This town has a serious lack of vegan friendly places. I recommend the Waldorf wrap.

A humble health food cafe with a beautiful, kind hearted staff and phenomenal food. The owner is the nicest human being I have ever encountered in my life, which as anyone who has ever worked in the service industry will know, is not an easy thing to maintain with the stress of owning a business. Top picks for food: Loco chipotle burger: A genius creation by the manager, JJ! The perfect balance of sweet and spicy...the absolute best vegan burger I have ever had, no soy and no gluten in the burger, what more can you ask for?? Falafal wrap: ahhhhhhmazing, with homemade tzaziki sauce....filling and delicious Cold Killer Juice: Perfectly sweet and spicy once again....amazing juice for every day and also if you are getting sick Chopchop salad: Add veggie burger and barcelona vinagrette for a perfectly filling and healthy lunch mmmmm! JJ Smoothie #1- THe best green smoothie you will EVER have, perfect meal replacement Portabella burger- addicting and healthy I LOVE APPLE A DAY CAFE!!!

One of the best healthy restaurants in MIA!! I wish I found you sooner. PLEASE never stop making the dragonfruit smoothies! The Mexican bowl is really good - just like the burrito bowl at Chipotle but actually healthy.

This place has remodeled both it's interior and it's staff! Love them both!!! The cold pressed juices are exquisite and the Rio acai bowl is the best on the beach! Can't say enough good things about the new apple-a-day :)

Not only a health food store, but restaurant with Delicious and healthy meals and fresh cold pressed juices. This place has been in South Beach as long as i can remember and is one of the only places to get a quick, affordable and SUPER healthy meal. Plenty of Vegan choices, veggie dishes and fish and other healthy delicious meals, eat in or take out. Fast friendly service and a very clean. Love it

How stupid and pointless is this place? Let me count the ways: - The clerk didn't know what Vitamin B was. - She had also never heard of "sprouts." - I asked for milk with my coffee, after paying for it. I was told they only had almond milk. This isn't advertised, which it should be. I explained that I was very allergic, it would give me a rash, etc. The manager told me that the problem was that I drank dairy. If I cut out dairy, I wouldn't be allergic to almonds. Um, okay, that's not medically correct in any way, but thanks for not knowing anything about health, health food store. NEVER MIND THAT THEIR MENU ISN'T DAIRY-FREE! They put mozzarella on everything. - The food sucks. The portions are good, but the fish and chicken taste like frozen crappy cheap store-bought, overly seasoned meat that is reconstituted.

The Eats: I've never had anything that I wouldn't order again! It's all that good. All wraps come with a house soup and the warm entrees are incredible considering the size of the operation. It looks like a place for just juice and supplements- but it has fabulous food. Best part? Everything is healthy and it has great options for vegans or people with strict diets. The Mango Crunchy Acai bowl- addicting. The Mahi Salad- fantastic. Chicken Waldorf wrap- out of this world and my new staple. Smoothies- amazing. The Experience: Don't let the humble interior fool you. This place has fabulous food. I believe some of the lower ratings might be outdated. It used to be more like a grocery store, but they have re-positioned their once bleak aisles and put more tables in. They added a cute seating area in the back that reminds me of a comfy coffee house and things look more inviting now. Great update! Service is a delight. All of the people that work there are so friendly and always in the best mood. Even when it is a bit busy, they are always pleasant and they never rush me when I can't decide which glorious thing I should order! A+++ to the person hiring the staff. Nothing pretentious about this place (even though half of the people eating here look to be in the best shape of their lives). The Damage: For healthy food- not bad at all. Plates are large and come with soup- so really quite cheap for the amount of great food!

This is a terrible restaurant run by a terrible owner. DO NOT be fooled by his subservient manner, he lies about many things. He overcharges on food that is not actually made from quality ingredients. I ordered a waldorf chicken wrap, which came with a soup, but both were very bland. For the prices he charges, all produce should be organic, non-gmo, etc. but that is not always the case, according to the menu. His restaurant is clearly not up to code (example: the restaurant gets unbearably smoky from the open kitchen because the range hood clearly does not work), and a lot of his food is stored on open shelves where any customer on their way to and from the bathroom can taint. $10 for a bottle of cold-pressed juice seems like a fair price in Miami Beach, but there is absolutely NO nutritional information available anywhere so who really knows what's in there. Wouldn't you be proud to show the contents of your products if you really believed in them? There is absolutely no nutritional information about ANY of the food that is served at this cafe except for the commercial products they sell. The only ok thing about this place is the service, but the food isn't even any good so what's the point.

This is a well run establishment. Apple A Day is a welcome spot tucked just two blocks from the end of Lincoln Road with some "clean" eating options that you just can't find on the strip. We had wraps and smoothies for a total of $35 -- mine was chicken with a spinach wrap and a strawberry-orange type smoothie -- the food was clean and filling. They also have a few shelves of items (supplements, snack bars, etc) and coolers full of drinks. Bathroom is clean and there is enough seating for about 15 total people inside.

I'll admit it: the star rating kept me away. Honestly, I think it's a bit too harsh. Granted, I've only come here for a quick/healthy meal, but I have yet to experience something so awful that it would lead me to write some of the below reviews. I feel badly for both sides of that experience. I think Apple A Day is an example of needing to keep things simple. Come in. Order a juice/smoothie.* Pay. Leave. If you try to add to many other elements in the mix, things get complicated. I am a fan of the Detox B: pineapple, apple, ginger, and mint. It's not as 'juicey' as some of the other options (these are all fruits/veggies I would eat on their own without having to be disguised as something else) but it's nonetheless delicious. The only issue: I've come in before and I haven't been able to order it. As in, the ingredients aren't available. :-/ Yes, I'll agree that that doesn't make any sense at all but it's what I've been told. I went with it. When this happens (it's been more than once), I wind up ordering something that isn't as appealing but... it's juice so... healthy, right? When I have strayed from my ordering system and opted for a wrap, I regretted it. On one visit, I was particularly hungry, so it was a Green B juice (admittedly, the options and juice has changed; AAD appears to be moving away from freshly-made juices to pre-packaged; I don't know if the Green B is still on the menu) and an Ahi Tuna wrap. The wrap was a wrap (as in, 'over'). It was disappointingly bland. I'd hoped the sesame sauce would add a punch but, alas, it did not. The wrap just tasted... cold. Like, there was no discernible taste. The veggies crunched and the protein was obvious... but no taste. The lentil soup that came with, however, was satisfying (if not ground-breaking). I was upset for a minute and then I remembered it was my fault: only order a juice/smoothie. *Fresh-made. Pre-packaged is no bueno.

Apple A Day has truly reinvented themselves. So go on with your bad self! They completely reinvigorated their interior, attitude, and energy (they must have been drinking their own juices). Everything is amazing from the moment you walk in. They have supplements, produce, cold preSSed juices, and a large menu filled with wholesome goodness. Let me here a woop woop Apple A Day! For all you picky seaters, Apple A Day has you covered as well. There is bar, table, or sofa seating! Your gluteus muscles will thank me later. What makes the experience even more inviting, is the positive, chillout energy. It is soothing, yet vibrant. I dont even think that makes sense. But when you go, you will know exactly what I'm talking aboot. I don't even need to talk food options, because it is all good in this sobe hood. But here's a little tidbit anyway. Most wraps and burgers come with a low salt, flavorful house soup. I begged for the soup recipe, but they did not budge one bit. The soup nazi must have paid them a visit. Maybe I will just send it to the lab.

My family and I came here to Miami for a few days. Anyways we were looking for healthy food and my little brother found it. We came around 9:00 PM and the owner was friendly with us. We ordered and the food was delicious. Nos gusto mucho. We ordered a chicken wrap and tuna ahi salad which was very good. We decided to come the next day and ordered breakfast. It was great. Everything is organic or the majority of it is. I got a cortado because at home we don't have this kind of coffee. I recommend this place to anyone who loves good food that is healthy and tastes good. In this hot weather something refreshing to have is always good and this place has it. We will be coming back again when we come back to Miami.

One of the few places in south beach where u can find local Florida honey not even wholefoods has that. I love the juices and they revamped the place now looks cooler. Also the soup that comes with the wraps is very yummy. I go there a lot. Service is good too.

  • nicole f.

I absolutely love this place. The ingredients used are so fresh and I love that I had the option for a gluten free wrap. The juices were $10 but fresher and better tasting than whole foods. The service was also impeccable... Definitely one of my favorite healthy spots.

Super good! I love their cold pressed juices. They also recently renovated which has definitely stepped up their game. I believe they just hired a new manager and he's really friendly and helpful!!! Check this place out if you want some great food, cold pressed juices and friendly staff.

Apple A Day is a life saver for me because I regard nutrition as important as the air I breathe due to its affect on our health and well-being. Apple A Day has a large variety of Organic Cold Pressed Juices, which are the most important part of my nutritional life. They also have raw vegan delicious cacao, vanilla, and other almond milk based drinks with all natural ingredients. They make smoothies. They have raw vegan food, which is not always easy to find. When a place is health conscious, such as Apple A Day, I feel a certain conscious connection with the people aware enough to create such a space. They also have wi-fi and a comfy sitting area, on top of good music playing at all times. In other words, you can drink / eat healthy in a good positive vibe. The ones working there are very nice, which is always awesome. If you want to change your health to the best health, I recommend you going there and doing a juice fast !

  • Val Z.

Love this place. It has undergone a bit of a reinvention for the better i think, accept i don't understand why they had cleared away most of their market shelves, i would think that was to clear space for more seating, but it looks like the same amount of tables as before. I say add some more tables, bring more people in! Ok, so food and drinks; love it all! My usuals are; Falafel wrap, comes with a cup of delicious lentil soup! Also like Tuna and avocado wrap. They have the BEST Acai bowl in SOBE!! I could have it everyday. And of cause their own branded juices, made on premises - good stuff.

  • Carlos G.

Where should I begin? The food is okay, not spectacular at all. The only side option that comes with a wrap and/or salad is the lentil soup that never changes. The monotony of it has me going batty. The staff is a bit cold-faced, almost as if they don't want to be there. The only super friendly person I've encountered at the counter is Leonel. In terms of the place itself, there's this huge space and absolutely nothing is being done with it. There's no character, no ambiance, no spark; the decor is as bland as some of the food items. The owner needs to really sit-down and think this endeavor through. He/She needs to check out some stellar places like Green Bar & Kitchen in Fort Lauderdale or Temple in Coral Gables. These vegan places have done a magnificent job with their establishment. Plus, I understand that the overhead may be ridiculously high given the square footage of the place, but prices on the menu are way too high for what you get. It's such a shame... cause with the right management and direction this place could have a lot of potential.

Everyone doesn't know what they are doing here. Food takes forever to get out and the orders are normally not right. It's disappointing because they don't even accommodate for their mistakes to keep customers happy. Very poor service

    (1)
  • Joseph C.

It was sparsely decorated, the food was just OK, and the prices are insane. Like, insane insane. I'm no stranger to spending good money on a good meal, but this was like amusement park pricing kind of gouging. We got two wraps and two drinks for a quick bite and spent enough money to cover a nice steak dinner.

I've been going around to different places trying to find the best green smoothie. So far I have only tried two of their green smoothies and one flavor of juice but they are really delicious. Service has been great. They also have lots of cold pressed juices and other healthy treats. I met the owner who suggested I call when i am on my way so he can have my smoothie ready when I walk in the door. Nice guy.

For the past 2 weeks, I've found myself in and out of Apple A Day a few times daily. I was initially hesitant because of the reviews, but I found myself with a completely opposite experience than what the star rating suggested. I've come in for lunch and opted for the Detox B juice. A clever and tasty blend of pineapple, mint, apple, and ginger. The zingy beverage is incredibly refreshing every time and pairs perfectly with my next lunch choice, the waldorf chicken wrap. Loaded with chunks of chicken breast and improved with crisp veggies, this lightly grilled wrap is a constant choice for me. Where juicing is concerned, I find their approach to be unpretentious and always speedy. The fact that they offer a solid soup, salad and sandwich selection is a nice compliment to the varied juice options.

Apple a Day has it's own designated parking spaces, which we appreciated. Fresh squeezed juice bar appears to be popular. Cold, bottled drinks in the refrigerated case seem alright. But the market section has expired foods, dented cans of food, and dusty jars of sauce. I originally found Apple a Day market off a product's website I was trying to track down. I called the owner of Apple a Day and he said that they "might" have the product, but things are really disorganized right now so my best bet was to try in a few weeks. Well, I finally visited months after the "renovation" and the market shelves are still a hot mess. I don't see why they even try to have a market. They might as well turn the whole thing into cafe and juice bar.

This place has great food, great acai and delicious breakfast. The only thing I will say negatively is that the delivery/phone service is absolutely terrible. There are days where the phone won't work at all, days where they simply do not pick up, and days where they put you on hold for an eternity and hang up. Other than that it's amazing, but if you can't reach anyone to get your food...that amazing food has no use!

I absolutely love this place. Their fresh juices are amazing and I'm hooked on their falafel burgers! Healthy, organic meals. Must go!

Don't be discouraged by the poor reviews. If you check out the people that have written negative reviews, that's all they do. This place is great. The food is amazing and relatively inexpensive considering the portions and healthy selections. Chicken Waldorf wrap is one of my favorites and the crunchy acai bowl is amazing.

This is part of a 2-part juice review series comparing South Beach juicing destinations Jugofresh and Apple A Day Natural Food Market (see also: yelp.com/biz/jugofresh-m… ) South Beach is filled with healthy, beautiful people. They care about their bodies, and would naturally gravitate toward juicing and health food. They love to party and, when it's time to recover, they would naturally gravitate toward juicing and health food to nurse their hangovers. For many years Apple A Day was the place where that happened, despite being filthy dirty, with unattended shelves, disinterested staff, and truly unsanitary behind-the-counter conditions. ...But when I had a hangover, I still went there, and begrudgingly paid my $7 for a juice. I did the Gwyneth Paltrow GOOP cleanse at Apple A Day. I waited in line for 20+ minutes while the person making my drink (without gloves) got my order wrong more often than not. And then the universe shifted and others realized that South Beach was a great market for juicing and health food. And then Apple A day had competition: Jugofresh. Jugofresh charges *at least* 30-40% more than Apple A day for any of its abundant juice offerings, but Jugofresh is clean, tiny (without wasted space to pay rent on, or fill with dirt or back stock like Apple A Day), efficient (drinks take at least half the time I swear), and yet their business is on fire. Apple A Day had every advantage. They were doing business in South Beach first. They are closer to the Flamingo, which undoubtedly houses no fewer than 1,500 brutally hungover partyers every day of the week who would be Apple customers. Yet only after the arrival of Jugo did they renovate in attempt to shape up, yet no effort has been made to get their service standard or staff to improve or, for heavens sake, clean the damn store. Apple A Day needs Tabitha's Salon Takeover: Health Food Edition. Get it together, or watch Jugofresh continue to poach your business.

I'm a fan of juicing and I'm a fanatic of Apple A Day's juices. I grab one or two every time I'm in the area. I find it interesting that ppl complain about a bomb ass juice that's packed with so many benefits, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, protein, superfoods yet, will not complain about a $10+ cocktail, those new pair of shoes that weren't a need, that new Michael Kors bag, etc. Look, our food is our medicine. Invest in yourself. Plus, it's just so damn good. Also, employees are friendly, it's clean and who am I to judge and bitch about decor,? Really folk? I'm just grateful for such a health conscious establishment to go into up to 10pm and it's clean.

I had gone to the gym and was really hungry. Nothing in South Beach opens before 10am except for Apple A Day. They were open earlier than all of the nearby restaurants. I was a bit apprehensive because of the previous reviews but decided to check it out for myself. I was greeted by a friendly staff member. He gave me the menu. There were lots of vegetarian, vegan, and other healthy options. Another helpful staff member recommended the BBQ tofu wrap . While waiting for my food to be ready I browsed the grocery shelves. Apple A Day caters to health conscious people and provides many varieties of health foods and supplements. The prices are also very reasonable especially compared to "Whole Paycheck" a few blocks away. (thanks Johnny T.!) My meal was delicious, fresh and quite large. It also came with a complimentary lentil soup that was very tasty. I enjoyed my meal in the cute cafe. I couldn't resisit a mini Bunny Cake red velvet cupcake before leaving. There is also free parking in the front of the store. I'll be back for sure.

The BEST Juices in Miami!! I've done their juice cleanse and felt amazing. They all taste delicious and are so filling. The "hulk" flavor is my new favorite. Their vegan, gluten free pancakes are out of this world too! They carry so many vegan and gluten free products, it's the best selection in Sobe.

wow ! really good stuff. The place was clean, service super fast and friendly, food fresh and DELICIOUS. I took my mom here, who's not vegan (I am ) and she also really loved. * w * I got the curry tofu wrap, a vegan ginger cookie (A+) My mom ordered the portabella burger and the Detox B smoothie. Everything was so good !!! And the entrees came with this super yummy lentil soup. Yay

Staff is not very helpful. They did have what I was looking for (coconut oil) but it was a bit pricey. Waited at the register for a while until someone finally came over to ring me up...I was the only one waiting. They have a lot of healthy options, you can even find a little spot in there to eat, but the prices are a little high. They have some other competition in town, so they may need to step up their game a bit in terms of price and being more helpful/friendly. I would rate them satisfactory/decent.

"An a apple a day keeps the doctor away." You've heard the proverb. And while it may be partially true (too much of a good thing can throw your insulin levels out of balance), little to nothing can disparage the overall quality of Apple A Day Natural Food Market. This health market is nonpareil to anything else I've encountered in the Miami-Dade area; think of BM Organics, but slightly more accessible. It's located in a tiny plaza right on Alton road, so it may be hard to see if driving. Over the past couple of months, the store's been through much renovation, and while past reviews are caustic, much has changed; specifically the cleanliness and overall quality of their food. The aisles are now clean and organized, and your favorite multivitamins and other supplements are much easier to locate than ever before. If you like Dr. Mercola, you can find a lot of his products here (i.e., Miracle Whey). One whey protein isolate I'd recommend is 'Vega' - it's equally natural as Mercola's miracle whey. FOOD: Some, if not many, of their products are Organic. Towards the left side of their store, you can find Organic veggies and produce tabulated next to an array of dairy products (i.e., Kefir, Soymilk, etc.) --- some of their items are surprisingly less 'pricier' than what you find at Whole Foods, then again, I'm not really into Kefir. And that's not even the best part. Right in the middle of the store, lies a midsized counter where Apple's small-staff prepares Smoothies, Granola bowls, Juices, Sandwiches, Wraps, Salads, and to-die-for soups. The workers are open to suggestions, and aren't as vitriolic as past reviewers make them to be. They're very friendly, and the owner can be seen offering advice - he always has a smile. JUICES: They have a ton, but if you want something loaded with antioxidants, then go with their Greens A or Greens B --- it's so nutritious with vitamins and minerals and tastes amazing. Much acclaim can go to their wraps/soups, too. Their wraps are plentiful - I'll go on record and say that Apple's has the best wrap/soup combos around. The flavor and quality was outstanding -- the soup was awesome, as well. Watch your intake of Fructose, and go to Apple A Day, you won't regret their tasty foods.

Fresh juiced vegetables? How fresh exactly? Not juiced to order! First things first. I realize the place is incredibly slow, over priced and not very clean. This did not sway me from purchasing a 32 ounce 'Roots A' fresh juice at least once a day for over two months. I justified the expense by the time it saved me from buying produce, cleaning produce, juicing produce, cleaning juicer, etc. I've been out of town for a month and was exciting to get back into my fresh juice routine today. I usually just take my number and have a seat at a table while I wait for my juice. Today I actually watched the process. Here is what you need to pay attention to and why I will never go back to this dump again. I watched the short haired girl who I later found out was the manager grab not one, not two, but three bottles out of the fridge and pour into my cup. This filled the 32 oz cup almost half way. She then proceeded to legitimately juice a small bit of celery and kale. I immediately questioned the lady who took my order and was told that they now pre-juice a lot of the ingredients in the morning to save time and also so they don't have to wash the juicer in between orders. She said carrots and beats are hard to clean off the juicer and sometimes get into the next person's order. When I asked the manager how they can justify this practice when it is common knowledge that all juice and enzymes begin breaking down immediately after you juice them I was told that I didn't know what I was talking about. I asked her if she has ever read a book on juicing. She said she cured herself of cancer by drinking juice that had set in a refrigerator for up to three days. I guess this means she knows more than every other author on the planet. Strike one was trying to slip pre-made juice into my fresh juice order. Strike two was lying to me about something that is well documented in every piece of literature out there on juicing. Strike three was telling me I didn't know what I was talking about. Apple A Day... YOU'RE OUT! My advice is to steer clear of this joint. There are too many places in SoBe that truly appreciate a customer and this is not one of them. Save yourself eight bucks and buy a V8. It was juiced long before you get it to save time also!

Ugh. This place. Their prepared foods are pretty terrible. Worst seaweed salad I've ever tasted in my life. Really dry falafel. Greasy dumplings. Flavorless tofu. Just really disappointing. The people that work here are pretty unfriendly, also. Will it kill you to crack a smile?! I'm a friendly person! They carry some good items, however. I can find nettle tea there when I sometimes can't find it at Whole Foods. And they carry BunnieCakes, which are my favorite vegan cupcakes in Miami (though I can find those many other places in South Beach, so I'd obviously go elsewhere for them). I've eaten their prepared foods twice. I vow to never do so again.

I mean, this place is a very small health food store. I can walk down the street to Whole Foods and find the same exact things. I digress...I came here with a girlfriend to grab lunch and was very disappointed. Well, where do I start? Let's start with the 20 minute wait for my juice and my shots. 20 minutes to make a juice let alone a shot? Were they picking the fruits out back? Jesus. Then came the additional 20 MORE minutes for my salad with chicken which then I could not eat when it arrived. One thing that I cannot stand is when all of the ingredients of something like oh let's say for instance, a salad are listed on a huge board for everyone to see and then they bring something that has additional ingredients not listed. It makes NO sense and that's what happened. I can't stand mayo. Like the thought of mayo literally makes me gag. I think you can guess what came on my salad. A mayo based sauce. I tried...I tried....I tired. I took one bite. Nope no can do. Had to return it. Oh, that took another 10 minutes to even get someones attention as I'm sure that no employees wanted to deal with the girl who wasn't satisfied with her salad. Finally, they remade it and by then I had pretty much lost my appetite. I bought some supplements from here but ehh, I think I will stick to Whole Foods.

Do you ever get the feeling that you are invisible? If not then you should try standing at the order counter and experience it for yourself. Despite 10 people working and one person counting cash from the register not one effort to acknowledge that I was waiting to order. Waiting to give them my business, waiting to try them for the first time but really just waiting. A simple hello or eye contact to say some how, "we appreciate your business and please be patient." If the owners of this place ever wake up and wonder why cant we pay the rent or why they don't have more business they should buy a book on common sense. Or they could read this and other posts that clearly say the service SUCKS. It is places like this I wish YELP would allow a NO STAR rating.

Very good acai bowl. They mix the frozen acai with the banana which gives it a great sweet touch. The sad part is that the banana pieces are extra. It took like 15 min to get our food, but worth the wait.

  • Bradley C.

This place was a great idea but the manager is running the business to the ground. I have a menu that is older so I thought my acai bowl was 5 and some change. They increased the price and all I brought was $5 and some change. Not only would they not accept it but they did not care when I told them the last time I waited 20 minutes for the acai bowl. The girl with the hat shrugged her shoulders and didn't say a word. I am a local and love to support local businesses. This store does nothing right. Customer service is disgusting, the staff (especially the manager) are so unhappy and miserable. I will never buy anything from here again.

Whether You a strict vegetarian or vegan, or You just enjoy great vegetarian and vegan cuisine like me, please, check this place out. For I as a chauffeur, who's constantly on the go, Apple a Day is the perfect alternative to nasty fast food places where you get so called "food" that's laced with fat, cholesterol and life shortening toxins! Apple a Day is a cute and clean little health food store that also has an in house café that seats about 24. So, on your lunch break come on in and enjoy the falafel wrap with a cup of the daily soup. I order the falafel wrap most of the time when I take my lunch break here, it's scrumptious, filling & very satisfying!..and it doesn't leave me feeling like I'm going to explode, like how a lot of fast garbage food makes me feel! Also, if You're a non vegetarian/vegan like me, You don't necessarily have to order vegetarian/vegan dishes, the salmon wrap is outstanding as well, and on my next visit I'm gonna order the green salad with chicken. At Apple a Day their's's a vast selection of fresh fruit & veggie juices on the menu, or if You want to make a juice of your own creation, the staff will be more than happy to juice it up for You. My favorite juice combos are the Energy Vibrance(ginseng, strawberries, bananas, almond milk and ice) and the Acaí Super-antioxident-A (acaí, bananas and apple juice) To sum up my great experiences here at Apple a Day, I conclude by posting that if You're pressed for time on your meal break, You don't have to frequent those crappy fast food places where the people that live to eat frequent. Stop on by here at Apple a Day, get a healthy meal quick, and eat to live! :-)

Juice menu: eh. I'm glad they are ok with customizing. Service: 2 thumbs DOWN. So incredibly freaking slow. Like, excruciatingly S L O W . They need a better system here, badly. Because when you have 3 people behind the counter, the wait for 2 juices and a samosa shouldn't be OVER 20 minutes. They get 1 star for POTENTIAL!

Have to say its gettjng better. Pressed juices have me coming back a few times a week. Still a little weird atmosphere, needs better decor.

DISGUSTING! Not only were the refrigerator shelves FILTHY but there were dead baby roaches all over, they were putting cheese and yogurt on top of dead roaches! This place is a filty dump! They had 5 (!) guys behind the counter! All dumb as a sack of hammers! What A HOLE!

I used to love Apple A Day ( & frequent it) because of it's juice bar, which had the best prices, $4 for an appropriate sized 16oz juice, which was juiced to order. Now they pre-juice everything, place it in a bottle, store it in a fridge and charge $9-$10 for their "cold-pressed juice'. Last I remember, not all the juice was even organic. I find it disappointing although there is a huge following for overpriced juice. Well, now it's back to Whole Foods, where I can get my juice on the road for $5. Too bad, I enjoy supporting local businesses when It makes sense. The shelves used to be stocked, now there are lots of empty rows. It looks like they are trying to sell the remainder of inventory and move towards becoming some kind of lounge cafe. The food was good, last time I had it, however, it is not always consistent on the ingredients. Unfortunately, as it stands, I won't be back to what was a great South Beach staple. I wish them the best though. Sorry...

I think I went in here with the wrong expectations. I thought this was more of an actual grocery store, rather then just a place to get some oddities. Yes, they do sell some groceries, but not like I was expecting. Which is fine, I still think this is a cool place. That being said, they do carry some great stuff here. I also like the juice bar they have. After looking around a little, my girlfriend & I had a wheat grass shot ($2 each) and the employee that helped us was friendly. I will be back to look around again soon.

My wife and I went to Rio de Janeiro for our honeymoon, when we came back we looked everywhere for Acai bowls - we were constantly disappointed, until we went to Apple a Day. The delicious, smooth Acai they serve here made us feel we were in Ipanema beach. They top it with banana and granola, and they get it just right! We also had a awesome chicken wrap packed with perfectly grilled chicken and fresh veggies. The guys that work there are nice and knowledgable about nutrition and their products. They have the best juices in SoBe at great prices, but the Acai bowl takes the cake!

This cafe has a number of issues I feel need to be resolved when it comes to customer service and politeness to customers. The staff and cashiers at the cafe seem like they care more about getting people in and out than having a nice hospitable atmosphere to enjoy ones food and coffee. The music is usually blaring loudly to the point where one can't even hear what is going on, and most of the food is bland to say the least. While they do offer some fresh pressed juices on a regular basis and offer a full vegetarian and vegan menu I think it would be best for them to start focusing on building customer relations to ensure the cafe reputation isn't blemished to the pint of them being known to be rude, (they already have this reputation). All-in-all I would say the cafe seems to be biased in whom they offer good customer service to based on who they think deserves it. The last time I checked running a cafe and customer service oriented business is about serving the customer and also the surrounding communities needs and desires. I would steer clear of this cafe unless you are looking for a little rudeness in your life. Moreover, as soon as one walks in you can't help but feel like you walked into a version of a 7-eleven or gas station food mart.

Take a break from the large Whole Foods. Look, I love WF too but every now and then it's nice to feel like the community isn't completely lost control from big box take-over (I can say this, I'm from Austin -- the birth place of WF and I remember when it resembled the humble size of Apple a Day). Don't just come here for the market, the prepared foods are okay too. It's not all vegan or vegetarian so watch out if you are trying things (or be happy to join a veggie friend, - you meat eater).

This is a great little spot for healthy foods like wraps, salads, smoothies etc. it's kind of a combination market/deli. The market has a lot of supplements and a lot of organic, raw, vegan foods. For south beach prices are reasonable. The wraps, which I get often are a generous size and are about $10-$12 and come with a bowl of soup. The soup is usually a vegetable soup and pretty good. Prices on the smoothies are a bit high, but it's good stuff. Definitely a solid chill spot. And if you have dietary restrictions, like vegan, a great choice for south beach. Ordering can be tricky the counter handles both food orders and grocery shopping and they get slammed because of all the gyms nearby. When they do the health food junkies and workout freaks can get a little pushy, but staff is always pretty chill and nice.

There is seriously something wrong with whoever works at this place. Also who every has worked at this place in the past. I used to go here often , but I stopped because I just think the place is not so clean. The food is amazing especially if you eat vegetarian food, or vegan. I jsaw 100 dished piled up in the sink. I saw a ton of ants in the orange juicer in the past. I probably have not been here in 2 years. The other day I was walking by, and wanted a healthy prepared snack. I went in no joke stood for 10 minutes with 3 people working behind a little counter. Finally, one asked me if I need help? HHMMMMM no I am standing here because I want to .

I've been here quite a few times as it is conveintly located right off of a Alton Road with easy parking! Im not a total health nut but anything I'm looking for to better my health I can usually find it here along with their awsome smoothies! They make the best smoothies, I love the tanquility tango its amazing made with fresh dates, almond milk and bananas. We discovered it after a long day at the beach, its a great fatty milkshake substitute. I also love the spirulina delight, you cant even taste the spirulina but the dark green color and boost of energy assures me that its in there. The place is what you would think a natural food market would look like but they are constantly improving and bringing in new products. They have good prices and you can call ahead for your order. They used to have these muffins that were to die for when I first moved here but I dont know why they dont make them anymore. The smoothies are unique and always fresh and my boyfriend says they have the best prices on health stuff, coming from someone who buys all of his protein and supplements online thats HUGE! I choose apple a day over the crowded/ over priced whole foods and jugo fresh anyday!

Have you ever heard the term, "It's good to have an apple a day". Well here's your opportunity to take the term seriously. I have come here a few times to try the ACAI crunch and its amazing every time. The place is going through some renovations and i know that this new team really cares about making their store better. I will definitely be coming back on a regular basis. Thank you guys for not being south beach douche-bags and keeping prices moderate.

I love this place and they allow you to sample their smoothies just incase you want to try something different but may or may not like it. Where else can you do that. Apple a Day is definitely an alternative to a fast food joint. There soups are also delicious.

Interesting place. The detox B juice has an outstanding taste, strong gingery kick for $4. However the last time I got one they used apple juice instead of apple in it and the difference was very noticeable, not in a good way. The acai bowl is pretty cool and 2 people can share one for $10. Not very clean and some of the employees are a bit knuckleheaded

The service at Apple A Day is consistently bad, but their daily soup is consistently delicious. As are their salads and sandwiches - delicious. The shelves in the store are 25% bare and I'm surprised they are even still in business. I'm all about supporting local businesses, but when the people behind the counter would rather watch me scald my hand off then offer to help me with my soup, it really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Soup = good taste in mouth. I'll keep coming here despite the miserable staff.

This is my new favorite regular place to go. Their juices and wraps are exceptional in both taste and price. You can get a 32 oz fresh juice for $8! Granted it's not the fanciest of enviornments. We go and order stuff to go then have our juice at mid breakfast and share one of the wraps. So far the veggie burger one is our favorite. They do have a lot of supplements and protein powders they sell. Some organic fruits and veggies. But, they change every day and it is best to go early in the morning. Sometimes we have to wait since everything is made to order and there might only be one person working. We went 4 days in a row last week!

i've been here a number of times for lunch. at $7-12 each the wraps are good deals, especially when lunch comes with free soup. the smoothies are a great deal, too - the small isn't small and goes for $4. now while the food is great, the service varies from service-with-a-smile to unresponsive crap. this is to say i've had mixed luck depending on who was behind the counter. most of the time there's a short wait to order. often i'll get a, "hi, i'll be right with you," or at least eye contact. recently, however, i waited over 15 mins. to place an order. i got zero acknowledgment from the staff and they even took orders from people who came in behind me. those people received their food and i stood there waiting like an idiot, starving for food, until i walked out. i headed up Alton Rd. to Yummy chinese and had a great meal and friendly service with whatever time remaining to my lunch break. this experience at Apple A Day has left a bitter taste in my mouth. it's an unacceptable level of service and i will be staying away for a good long while. note if you're female and attractive, maybe you can get the staff's attention. me? not so much. i think a change in management or at least staff would do this place a lot of good.

I go to Apple A Day 3. To 4x A week. I agree te store could tweeked up a bit. But the staff is very friendly. The fresh vegetable juice are within a reasonable price range. Not to mention the waldorf chicken salad wrap and soup for $8. It's the best wrap you'll ever have. plus, I support local buisnesses as much as I can, rather than the over prices corporate stores.

I have nothing against crunchy granola types or beach hippies, but I don't understand why even they come here. Half the store is filled with weird nutrients and additives rather than anything resembling "natural food" and the other half is still pretty scant on actual products. All of the store is dirty, and we saw bugs. We went looking elsewhere for our flax, coconut, etc.

This is one of the greatest places on Miami, with a great variety in food, great environment and service, and has an organic grocery store, along with fresh healthy food available for breakfast, lunch and evening. It is much less than Whole Foods, and the food is better!

This place is one of a kind. When I first came here I couldn't really understand what this place was. I'm hooked on synergy drinks so I started coming here more and more. I then tried some of the pre-made food and I was very impressed. I get the chicken wrap and it's pretty fu&@ing good. It comes with soup and it's only $9. I can not finish the whole wrap and soup in one sitting so it's two meals for me. Super healthy and good. The nighttime staff are super friendly and the prices are great, especially for the beach. Check it out, you got nothing to loose but don't let the appearance scare you away ;)

I am all about supporting small local businesses, but they have to return the favor by keeping it clean!! This place is pretty smelly and grimy. It could afford to close down for a day for some hard-core cleaning. I only go here for the g.t.'s kombucha drinks. Whole Foods pulled them from the shelves months ago. I don't buy anything else here, but I might if it was more inviting (and clean.) *hint hint*

Super friendly folks - super healthy cuisine - and fast and fresh - there's usually parking which is a Sobe commodity and they will juice to your liking. I'm a beet, apple, carrot and ginger fanatic -made with love and u can see their produce is too ;) I will miss being do close to u ;( it's an in and out place - although u will not mind - nor get any flack for squatting and sipping - despite the vitamin aisles ambience.

Super crunchy granola types and beach hippies congregate here. But this doesn't mean you shouldn't go. Embrace your inner vegetarian and lick some lettuce once in awhile, umkay? Love the food counter where items are made to order. One tiny table inside and a couple outside that are so loaded with condiments like spray-on Braggs liquid aminos, and an impressive hot sauce selection, that you can barely seat two. Not the greatest inventory of foods, vitamins and supplements like one would find at Wild Oats and better yet, Whole Foods though I love to support local health food stores. They do offer special orders. I prefer to place my orders for nutrition bars by the case (larabar since they are raw and organic!) and other cases like metromint water, etc. here instead of Wild Oats since it's hassle free and seems to arrive much quicker. Bonus factor includes a 10% case discount. Love the laid-back easy going vibe here w/ zero attitude from staff and customers. Go Hemp!

Service: 5 Food: 4.5 Super friendly service. I think it was the owner who greeted me and invited me to sit when I was debating whether or not to get to go or dine in. I obliged and took a seat. I had the delicious Waldorf chicken wrap with a side of lentil soup. Great crunch from the veggies and walnuts. The portion is generous, and I had had the wrap leftover for dinner another day. Healthy, yummy, and filling. This place is a yes for a quick meal. Also there is parking right outside, although a spot may be hard to find as there aren't too many.

We ate here every morning while vacationing on South Beach. The service was great. The staff is very knowledgable. The food is fresh and so good. It took a little bit long for the food to come out but I think that's because of the freshness and care they put in to it. The juices were delicious! I had the paradise fuel and my husband ordered the Citrus B. The acai bowl and the pitaya bowl were amazing!! The only downside- I wish the bowls came in sizes. I wasted so much food every time I ordered it and I felt the juices were a bit overpriced. I could get a Naked Juice for less than half the price.

Pros: Great vegan snacks, Offers juice fast, Very vegan-friendly Cons: Bit expensive, Juices not very tasty Apple a day has good food, but it is a little too pricey for the quality they offer. I loved how they carefully put together a juice fast for me, but it was very expensive, and about half of the juices were almost undrinkable. I loved the chocolate bunniecakes and some other vegan snacks they offered.

Apple a day is a quick, healthy, convenient bite to eat on the beach. I love the area, it's away from all the horrible parking spots and tourists on the beach. It's nothing fancy, but it has solid healthy/vegan/vegetarian dishes. The juices/smoothies are out of this world good! Try the jiu jitsu smoothie! Trust. It's a little weird with the cream cheese added but it sounded intriguing so went for it. The cream cheese helps bring out the flavor of the papaya really well, and the fresh wild honey evens everything out. Their wraps are overly stuffed with fresh veggies and always made perfectly. I loved the chicken waldorf with the veganaise. You can defiantly tell they made some noticeable changes around the store. They added some art work on the walls, so it doesn't look so convenient store-ish, and even the service is way better. This place back in the day was not the greatest, but shows you made an EFFORT to change. The cashier Lucas was so sweet yesterday, and was extremely knowledgeable about the menu items and health add-ins.

I like eating healthy when the food tastes good. What's the point of not enjoying your food? This place is ok, near my home. The food is ok. I've been to healthy vegan / vegetarian restaurants, like Choices, that have both healthy and flavorful food. I would go again to try other menu items. I may even update my review if the food turns out to be better the next time around. I had a wrap, soup and a smoothie. They were all just ok. I don't remember the name of the fish I had in my wrap because it was a substitute. The original fish wrap I wanted was the Mahi-Mahi, but they ran out. I may try this place again but no time soon.

NEW MANAGEMENT!!! They have an amazing new vibe going and are becoming super consistent. They used to take a while to get you your food because they weren't organized but now their stellar. Customer service, atmosphere and new management has me wanting to go when ever I'm in the area. Everything is timely, super clean, and tastes great. Their cold pressed juices are 4 dollars less than anywhere else and food is delicious and reasonably priced considering their ingredients are so top notch. For a healthy bite I wouldn't go anywhere else!!!

About Applebee's

Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Although the trademark dish Riblets is a hot favorite among regular Applebee's dwellers, the restaurant also serves some amazing burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.
